  10. I have a new USR Sportster 33.6 internal.  After 2 weeks, I have still been unable to connect at 28.8, much less 33.6.  The best connect so far is 21600.  Is there a possibility I have a defective modem, or it most likely a bad phone line?

  12. When I do a report, the modem shows a SN of 25 to 28 dB.  Is that typical, or low?  The only change to the internal setup is I turned off MNP5 compression.  I have also tried turning of VFC, and 3429 symbol rate temporarily, but still no 28800 connects.
